Line Efficiency through In-Line Layout Design
Abstract
This research paper provides a comprehensive review of in-line layout design strategies for optimizing efficiency in assembly line operations. In-line layouts, characterized by sequential arrangement of workstations along a single line of flow, offer several advantages including reduced material handling, minimized work-in-progress inventory, and enhanced production flexibility. The abstract highlights key methodologies and findings from recent studies, encompassing layout optimization techniques, ergonomic considerations, and technological advancements in assembly line design. Key challenges and future research directions are identified to facilitate the development of innovative solutions for improving assembly line performance.
