CFD Analysis of Flow across Condenser Pipes with Fins
Abstract
In this project, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis is performed on a pipe with fins for various header sections. Heat exchangers are widely used across several industries, and the paper focuses on a condenser heat exchanger designed to meet industry specifications. Using CREO Parameters 3.0 software, a symmetric geometry of the condenser, consisting of 22 tubes with an outer diameter of 20mm, inner diameter of 18mm, and a length of 90mm, is created. The study investigates three different header designs to ensure uniform velocity distribution across the tubes. The objective is to employ CFD simulations to validate the condenser design, using air and water as working fluids and analyzing velocity, pressure, and temperature characteristics. The results are compared for various fluid conditions, including a rectangular plate and a plate with a hole.
