A structural analysis and design of the rice polishing machine frame
Abstract
The purpose of this work is to design and analyze the polisher machine frame using the finite element method. Structural and modal analysis was performed on the machine structure, which had a tubular frame design and a sheet metal frame with dimensions of 10 mm, 8 mm, and 6 mm. Results from structural analyses were compared for stability, deformation, and strength. The induced natural frequency of the system was compared with the results of modal analysis. Tubular frame designs could be used in place of sheet metal frames while retaining the same degree of strength and stability, according to comparative analysis. Compared to the sheet metal frame, the tubular structural frame is about 50% less expensive to manufacture and 20% lighter.
