Design and Analysis of Disc Brake Rotor for Hyundai I10 Grand, Xcent
Abstract
A mechanical device called a disc brake rotor is used to stop, slow down, or stop an object in motion. This study examines the construction and material analysis of the disc brake rotor on a Hyundai I10 Grand Xcent. The analysis includes heat generation, deformation, and fatigue life of the disc brake rotor. This study's goal is to design a disc brake rotor using NX-12 software and analyze its thermal-structure and fatigue in a workbench setting using Ansys-12 software. Additionally, it computes the disc brake rotor's equivalent stress, equivalent elastic strain, fatigue life, factor of safety, total deformation, and equivalent stress for the Hyundai I10 Grand, Xcent model.. The Xcent model is also checked for different materials and comparisons are made. In order to lessen accidents and other issues that may arise with the disc brake rotor for the Hyundai I10 Grand Xcent vehicle, it is helpful to understand the pressure force and friction force on the disc brake rotor for various materials.
