Voting with QR Codes Using an Android App

Abstract


The purpose of this system is to suggest a real-time system for an Android smartphone that makes use of a quick response code. The idea for an e-voting application comes from an android phone application. The admin side must verify the voter's information before the user can log in. On the day of the election, eligible voters can get the authorized quick response code verified by the admin side. The authentication is completed by scanning the quick response code with the mobile scanner application. The multiplexing and DE-multiplexing procedures make it possible to conceal the voter information within the quick response code. Divide the information back into the quick response code pattern and decode and encode the data from the single response using special symbols. Android is used to develop the idea for an e-voting application in the proposed method. The voter is required to provide the password after scanning the quick response code. After completing the authentication process, the voter is permitted to proceed with the voting process. Following the completion of the voting process, the voter can receive confirmation from the Short Message Service, at which point that particular account is deactivated and the user is unable to vote again. Only the commission is accountable for reactivating the account.
