Smart Water-Saving Irrigation System
Abstract
The Smart Irrigation System using ESP8266 is an IoT-based solution designed to automate irrigation and improve water efficiency in agriculture. The system uses an ESP8266 Wi-Fi microcontroller to collect data from a soil moisture sensor and control a water pump through a relay module. When the soil moisture drops below a predefined threshold, the pump is automatically switched on, and it turns off once adequate moisture is reached. Through Wi-Fi connectivity, farmers can monitor soil moisture levels and control the irrigation system remotely using a smartphone or web application. This system helps reduce water wastage, saves time and labor, lowers operational costs, and supports sustainable farming practices by providing timely and efficient irrigation.
