Air Pollution Monitoring and Route Directing System
Abstract
Air quality has become a growing concern due to rapid urbanization, industrialization, and increased vehicular emissions. Traditional air quality monitoring systems are often limited in scale, expensive, and provide only delayed information. This paper presents a real-time, cost-effective air quality monitoring system utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) to address these challenges. The system integrates a network of sensors capable of measuring various pollutants, including carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide, (CO)particulate matter and other gases, as well as environmental parameters like ambient temperature and relative humidity. These sensors are connected to microcontrollers, which facilitate live data collection and transmission. The system provides alerts to residents when air quality levels exceed safe thresholds, suggesting alternative routes or public transportation to minimize exposure.
