Improving the Productivity of Channel Manufacturing Medium Size Spherical Roller Bearing

Abstract


This paper illustrates productivity improvement by concepts of identification of losses in regular production, setup time reduction, Fixture Design, Conceptual design for Tilter and implementation of 5S. To improve the productivity of channel, losses in regular production are found out. Bottleneck machines are identified, and time study is carried out for setting activity on those machines. On basis of time study, Pareto analysis is performed to identify most contributing factors for lower productivity. Different Pareto analysis are giving solutions. Fixture design and conceptual tilter design is suggested.
