The Role of CATIA in Enhancing Engineering Design Processes

Avdhut Gujar, A. D. Awasare

Abstract

This research paper explores the role of CATIA in enhancing engineering design processes. CATIA, developed by Dassault Systèmes, is leading CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software widely used in various engineering fields. This study investigates the capabilities of CATIA, including 3D modeling, simulation, and product lifecycle management (PLM), and examines its impact on design accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration. Through a comprehensive literature review, case studies, and comparative analysis with other CAD tools, the research highlights CATIA's advantages and challenges. The findings indicate that CATIA significantly improves design quality and reduces development time, making it an essential tool for modern engineering design.
