In Tabasco, Cyperus Canus J. Presl is used as a raw material for making crafts
Abstract
This paper investigates the utilization of Cañita by craftsmans of Nacajuca, Tabasco, Mexico to expound business makes. This plant happens normally, yet its interest by craftsmans has expanded, which could prompt the slow annihilation of wild populaces. This study aims to provide some background information about Caita (C. canus): artisanal use, agricultural production, and botanical description The conclusion is that, despite the plant's economic and agronomic advantages, the artisanal production system and the sociocultural environment of the families that work with it do not contribute to the sustainability of Caita production. This is a limiting factor for the production processes related to commercial tourism and the artisans' capacity to make decisions over the long term.
