Case Study: Using ARENA Simulation to Improve the Concrete Mixture Assembly Line

Abstract


Over the past decade, simulation has become an essential tool in product design across various industries. This paper explores the use of simulation software, specifically ARENA (student version), to optimize plant layouts and resource utilization. The simulation model was developed using real-time data collected with a mobile stopwatch. The EasyFit software was employed to validate and distribute this data for use in the simulation model. ARENA, available in both a full professional version and a student version, was used to test different scenarios to balance and optimize production lines. The study aims to reduce bottlenecks and improve line efficiency through these simulations.
