Study the Effect of Various Flexible Umbilical Cords on the Motion Performance of Unmanned Wave Glider (Uwg)
Abstract
The Unmanned Wave Glider is a kind of unmanned ocean face vehicle which solely uses surge energy and solar energy for its working and is used for the monitoring of the ocean. Unmanned Wave Glider consists of a face pier body (floater) and submersible glider (glider) with a slack umbilical cord. This paper presents the study on the effect of the inflexibility of the umbilical cord on the stir performance of Unmanned Wave Glider. Three different types of cords are made similar as rigid rod, string, andmulti-link are used to attach the face pier body (floater) with submersible glider (glider). The models of the different umbilical cord structures are made in Solidworks software. Simulation is done on software Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems (ADAMS) study the effect of hydrodynamic force on the colorful corridor of the Unmanned Wave Glider. The results of the simulation show slight differences between all of the cord types.
