Abstract

The production of adreno corticotropic hormone ( ACTH ) occurs by pituitary gland and activates the adrenal glands to release cortisol. The synthetic drugs namely corticosteroids mimic the effects of natural cortisol. Addisons disease is manifested by adrenal I sufficient iency and frequently necessitate corticosteroid replacement therapy to control normal physiological activities. Glucocorticoid receptor modulators (GRMs) influence glucocorticoid receptors and minimize the side effects related broad _ activity corticosteroids. Synthetic ACTH analogs play a role in replicating the hormone action. Steroidogenesis inhibitors target enzymes participated in the synthesis vof cortisol and decreasevits production. These inhibitors are helpful during cortisol excess. Corticotropin _: releasing hormone (CRH) antagonists disturb the signaling cascade, resulting in decreased ACTH secretion. Finally it is concluded that drug acting on adreno cortico tropic hormones play a vital role in controlling hormonal balance particularly within the body.
