Facilities of Surface Water in Agricultural, Adjacent Ground Water Socio-Economic change due to construct Rubber Dam in Chapai_Nawabganj District

MD GAZI RAIHANUL HUQ

Abstract

Chapai Nawabganj district is the north west resign in Bangladesh and most of area are Barind tract and its agricultural mostly depend on Ground water. Because so much groundwater is being extracted for irrigation, the groundwater table in the study region is permanently dropping. The study assesses the use of stored Mohananda River water as an alternative irrigation source to reduce groundwater stress in a 7,200-ha area. It involves calibrating and validating groundwater models and evaluating future groundwater levels with and without a rubber dam and also socio-economic change of this district.
