Abstract

Twisting of the ligaments supporting the adnexa causes ovarian torsion, which is a serious surgical emergency that stops the organ's blood supply. It needs to be diagnosed as soon as possible to prevent the substantial morbidity associated with this disorder. This exercise describes how to diagnose and treat ovarian torsion and emphasizes the importance of an interprofessional team in diagnosing and treating individuals with this illness.
